Alternator belt for 2011 and later

Alternator Belt Function

The alternator belt is a belt that transfers the rotational energy of the engine to the alternator. It wraps around a pulley connected to the end of the crankshaft. As the engine starts and the crankshaft rotates, the belt moves, transferring rotational energy to the alternator. The alternator, acting as a generator, converts this energy into electricity and charges the battery to supply power to various vehicle components.

While the primary function of the alternator belt, as its name suggests, is to transfer engine rotational power to the alternator, in modern vehicles, it also drives other engine components such as the water pump, power steering pump, oil pump, and air conditioning compressor, alongside the timing belt.
