Alternator Belt
Description: The alternator belt is responsible for transferring the engine’s rotational energy to the alternator. This belt wraps around a pulley connected to the crankshaft. As soon as the engine starts and the crankshaft rotates, the belt moves and transfers rotational power to the alternator. The alternator, which functions as a generator, converts this energy into electricity and charges the battery to supply power to various vehicle systems. Although the primary function of the alternator belt is to transmit engine power to the alternator, in modern vehicles, it also helps drive other engine components such as the water pump, power steering hydraulic pump, oil pump, and air conditioning compressor.
