Dynamo Belt Description
The dynamo belt is a belt that transfers the engine’s rotational energy to the dynamo. This belt wraps around a pulley connected to the crankshaft. As the engine starts and the crankshaft rotates, the belt moves as well and transfers the rotational energy to the dynamo.
The dynamo, which is a type of generator, converts this energy into electricity and charges the battery to provide the electrical power needed for various parts of the vehicle. Although the main function of the dynamo belt, as the name suggests, is to transfer the engine’s rotational force to the dynamo, in modern vehicles, both the timing belt and this belt are responsible for driving other engine components such as the water pump, power steering pump, oil pump, air conditioning compressor, and more.
