Alternator Belt
Description: The alternator belt is a belt that transfers the engine’s rotational energy to the alternator. It wraps around a pulley connected to the crankshaft. When the engine starts and the crankshaft rotates, the belt moves, transmitting rotational energy to the alternator. The alternator, which functions as a generator, converts this energy into electricity to charge the battery and supply power to various vehicle components. While the primary function of the alternator belt, as its name suggests, is to transfer rotational power from the engine to the alternator, in modern vehicles both the timing belt and the alternator belt also drive other engine components such as the water pump, hydraulic power steering pump, oil pump, and air conditioning compressor.
