Timing Belt
A timing belt is one of the essential components in a car engine. Its role is to engage and time the internal parts of the engine with the rotational movement of the crankshaft. Some of the components connected to the timing belt include the camshaft, valves, water pump (coolant pump), and oil pump (lubrication pump), which require rotational motion for their operation. The timing and rotation of these components are controlled by the timing belt in the engine.
